Humanitarian Values

Humanitarian Values Programmes: The following two projects are under the social welfare programmes

– Child Advocacy and Rehabilitation (CAR) Project: This post crisis recovery project started in 2001 to cater for war affected children who missed their childhood and schooling during the civil conflict. It provides basic education, skills training in gara tie-dyeing, soap making, tailoring, dress making, brick block laying and concreting; and cane craft as well as psychosocial support to beneficiaries in five centres in Waterloo, Port Loko, Kambia, Kabala and Kailahun.

– Community Animation and Peace Support (CAPS) Project: Also a post crisis project started in 1999 as a consequence of the civil conflict to facilitate reconciliation and forgiveness, support the reconstruction of community structures and provide communities with tools and agricultural inputs to restore livelihoods of war-damaged communities.
