IRP team successfully conducted an outreach campaign, dialogue sessions

The IRP team successfully conducted an outreach campaign, dialogue sessions, from December 13th to 15th 2023. The primary goal of the campaign was to raise awareness about gender-based violence (GBV) issues in the operational communities of Freetown.

During these engagements, the team actively engaged with the local community markets and facilitated discussions and drama skits performed by the agents of change. These activities were a testament to the SLRCS IRP program’s commitment to tackling SGBV, empowering communities and individuals to recognize, prevent, and effectively respond to incidents of SGBV at the local level.

As we observe the 16 Days of Activism, the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society is fully dedicated to mitigating the negative gender norms of community beliefs concerning sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) by addressing it directly. We strive to eliminate the barriers that perpetuate SGBV and promote a culture of respect, equality, and safety.
